Cuyahoga Land Bank receives award for excellence from State of Ohio Auditor

October 5, 2012 [Newschannel 5]

The Cuyahoga County Land Reutilization Corporation, which was established in 2009 and is commonly known as the Cuyahoga Land Bank, recently concluded its third annual audit by the State of Ohio Auditor.

The audit, which is required of all county land banks, examined all of the operations of the Cuyahoga Land Bank, its financial systems, its accounting procedures and outcomes as well as all of its personnel and financial obligations.

After a four week examination of the Cuyahoga Land Bank’s operations, the State of Ohio Auditor issued an award to the Cuyahoga Land Bank for excellence in best practices and financial accountability.

“With the ever increasing complexity of the Cuyahoga Land Bank and its activities, the excellence award was particularly gratifying,” said Cuyahoga Land Bank President Gus Frangos. “The Land Bank staff and Board strive to employ best practices and quality services in all of our operations.”

Excellence awards from the State of Ohio Auditor are only issued when an organization receives a completely clean audit without reservation or qualification.
