Partner Spotlight: Civic Builders

From University Circle to Tremont to Ohio City, Civic Builders has built countless homes and worked on renovations, remodels and new constructions big and small. In 2001, the company set out to meet unanswered demand for city projects and now has a portfolio of successful developments throughout northeast Ohio.

In February 2018, the Cuyahoga Land Bank, in a joint venture with Civic Builders, unveiled the first of two new, modern single-family homes built on the site of a formerly blighted and abandoned property on West 29th Street in Ohio City. The Cuyahoga Land Bank also partnered with the Cleveland-based construction firm on several recent new home construction projects. In May, Civic Builders put the finishing touches on two new construction homes in Ohio City. The group is currently building two custom homes in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood in partnership with the Cuyahoga Land Bank.

“Early on, Civic Builders began working with the Cuyahoga Land Bank renovating homes. Now, we have been excited to play a part in its new home construction program,” says David Fragapane, Principal at Civic Builders. “Since most of the work Civic Builders does is in the city of Cleveland, it was a good fit from the beginning.”

“The team at the Cuyahoga Land Bank is a very professional, detail-oriented group,” says Fragapane. “We work together to fully assess a project at the onset to ensure we make the most out of each individual lot. I look forward to continuing to work with the Cuyahoga Land Bank as one of its partners as the organization continues to build new and affordable homes,” says Fragapane.

“With many decades of construction experience, David Fragapane and Civic Builders have a deep knowledge of modern construction techniques, materials, technology, and green building concepts,” says Dennis Roberts, Director of Programs and Property Management for the Cuyahoga Land Bank. “We continue to partner with Civic Builders on projects because of its experience in city housing development and small lot and infill development. They have been an essential partner on many of our most successful construction projects as we work to support community goals.”
