Creative Housing Solutions for Veterans

There are many outstanding organizations dedicated to helping homeless and disabled Veterans. None are quite like Ride With Valor, a 501(c)3 public charity founded in 2018 by U.S. Army Veteran Russell Scot Rhoda.

Ride with Valor was founded to help Veterans find solutions to keep their homes habitable and accessible. After numerous home modification projects for disabled Veterans, Ride With Valor (RWV) branched out into tackling Veteran homelessness. Banding together with businesses, friends, and neighbors, the group created its Hearth & Home Program to offer housing solutions for Veterans in need.

Under its Hearth and Home Program, RWV takes donated houses and fully renovates and/or modifies them to meet the specific need of their clients.  RWV takes their assistance a step further by offering qualified Veterans the opportunity to obtain a mortgage and own the home for approximately half of the appraised value.

The Cuyahoga Land Bank donated a single-family house in Cleveland’s South Collinwood neighborhood that RWV is currently renovating for an elderly Veteran requiring single-level living space.

“Many veterans are leading better lives today thanks to Ride With Valor,” says Gus Frangos, President and General Counsel for the Cuyahoga Land Bank. “We were happy to work with the group to find the ideal house for this particular project and look forward to future collaborations.”
