Introducing Our New COO

We are pleased to announce that Ricardo León has accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer for the Cuyahoga Land Bank. León joined the Cuyahoga Land Bank team on April 1.

In this role, León will be responsible for strategic planning and program design that supports the Land Bank’s mission. He will oversee programs and property management, information technology and research, and community stabilization efforts, including new home construction and the demolition of abandoned residential and commercial structures in Cuyahoga County.

A lifelong Clevelander, León’s experience includes five years as Executive Director of the Metro West Community Development Organization, a dynamic Community Development Corporation (CDC) focusing on three Cleveland near-west neighborhoods; Stockyards, Clark-Fulton, and Brooklyn Centre. He earned his B.A. in Economics from Baldwin Wallace University and a Master of Science in Urban Studies with a concentration in Economic Development from Cleveland State University.

“Ricardo brings experience and a proven track record of success in community and economic development, which will be invaluable in meeting the Cuyahoga Land Bank’s goals and objectives,” says Gus Frangos, President and General Counsel. “I am confident he will be a strong asset to the Cuyahoga Land Bank team.”

“I feel incredibly honored and humbled to join the Cuyahoga Land Bank team,” says León. “I’ve had the opportunity to witness firsthand the truly amazing impact this organization has had on our region, and I look forward to continuing to build upon its storied history as its Chief Operating Officer.”
